Project Overview
Ethan Bryan is an author and baseball storyteller best known for his book A Year of Playing Catch, which chronicles his journey of playing catch every day for an entire year after being inspired by his daughters.
What started as a personal challenge quickly grew into a movement, encouraging people across the country to reconnect through the simple act of throwing a baseball.
Ethan wanted a creative way to connect with readers, baseball fans, and the communities he meets at speaking events and catch gatherings. Together, we created custom trading cards that share his story while celebrating the spirit of the game.
The cards highlight Ethan’s journey, his work mentoring students through Community Partnership of the Ozarks, and his belief that playing catch can help teach character, leadership, and connection.
Each card also includes a QR code that allows people to learn more about the initiative and support the organization’s programs.
After the success of the first release, Ethan returned for a second print run featuring a new card design, inspired by vintage Topps baseball cards.
Today, the cards are distributed at speaking engagements, catch events, and community programs as a memorable way to share the Playing Catch story.
